Kishwar Desai is an author and columnist. She is the Chair of The Arts and Cultural Heritage Trust which set up the world’s first Partition Museum at Town Hall in Amritsar. Her last novel The Sea of Innocence (part of the Simran Singh detective series) was published in India, the UK and Australia in 2014. Her first novel, Witness the Night, won the Costa Book Award in 2010 and has been translated into over 25 languages. Her other works include the novel Origins of Love and a biography titled Darlingji: The True Love Story of Nargis and Sunil Dutt. She is currently working on a book on the Partition as well as one on early Indian cinema.
